Introducing the Inspiration behind Life With Dez

I want to start by briefly introducing myself; it's important.

Hi, I'm Deziyre, a full-time early childhood education student, preschool paraprofessional, military girlfriend, and cat mom. Additionally, I'm a writer, musician, and coffee addict, passionate about traveling, and a product of the military and divorce. These diverse areas and expereiences, though unique from the other, have paved the path of my current life, showcasing my identity and further motivating me to share my life with others.

I was raised by the military, pretty much despising anything to do with it because it took more than it gave: time. I never wanted to join, I never wanted to be with someone in the military. It was too much to deal with as a military child; I didn't want to imagine it as a spouse or parent. Now I've found myself deeply in love with a soldier and I wouldn't have it any other way. Funny how life works.

I love being a cat mom to Harley and Feebs, but I really want a dog someday. I had one for fourteen years, and while she was "mine", she wasn't. She was the best girl, and I'm thankful to have loved her during my childhood.

Dog breeds I'm interested in:

  • Samoyed

  • Doodles

Despite my academic and professional pursuits, my heart yearns for the freedom and satisfaction that writing brings. A career in education is in the works, with only a few more classes left to complete before receiving the degree. I love working with kids; they're a joy and there's never a dull momemt. However, I'm a writer with a creative mind that yearns to satisify those imaginative thoughts.

Writing gives me peace and clarity to communicate my thoughts. Too often, my words fail me, so I happily lean on writing as a form of expression.

I fell in love with writing when I was a small child. From writing assignments to wishing I could rewrite novels or movie endings, I found that my imagination was quite creative. My thoughts were caged back then, speaking loudly like a broken record. But I discovered that paper and pen were perfect for releasing every feeling, emotion, and thought lingering in my mind. It was freeing. It was my most effective form of communication, a natural talent I embraced.

I was and never have been the most vocal as the years passed. Public speaking, voicing opinions, and addressing confrontation are all challenges for me. In friendships and relationships, it's a bad trait I can't thoroughly shake but am desperately working to break. As an education professional, every day is a learning experience to think quickly before speaking as I guide students to success. Growth, I've repeatedly witnessed, is not impossible.

A touch of writing success:

  1. During my senior year of high school, I wrote for my school's paper, The Falconer, and was the president of the journalism club. My articles gained more traffic from the local community than the county paper and landed interviews with emerging singers, which was pretty exhilarating to experience.

  2. In the spring semester of my senior year in high school, I took a creative writing class, where my poems won best piece.

  3. I've taken creative writing classes in college, and my poems, memoirs, and other creative writing pieces have been inspirational for others.

I created a blog a few years ago to share my writing pieces, but it was unsuccessful. Years later, I decided to take it more seriously and try again, more determined than ever to share engaging content and connect with my readers. As a writer, I'm most passionate about writing poetry, creative nonfiction memoirs, fictional pieces, and blog posts like this introductory post.

My goals as a writer:

  1. Publish poetry books

  2. Publish creative nonfiction works

  3. Publish novels

  4. Grow my blog daily

I've dreamed, brainstormed, and now actively work on completing and publishing all my written works; time will tell.

Reflecting on my unique niche and what sets me apart from other bloggers, I've realized that my upbringing is a story within itself. With a mother in the military, parents who divorced and remarried, and a childhood filled with instability in varying contexts, my life has been anything but ordinary. These experiences have shaped my love for traveling the world, self-expression through music, and appreciating the beauty of day-to-day living, and I'm excited to share these stories with you.

So, what is my niche? You have probably already guessed it: Lifestyle.

With a wealth of experiences from the past twenty-three years and an unwavering passion for writing, creating a lifestyle blog was a natural choice. As a lifestyle blogger, I'm eager to share my diverse content with you, from travel adventures and military lifestyle adaptions to differing writing prompts and everything in between. There's so much to write about, and I can't wait to start.

On my blog, I discuss my past and present personal experiences working in retail and education, offer relationship advice, share beauty tips, and share trendy content for other cat moms. Of course, you will find that I frequently share my passions and love for music, writing, traveling, home and living, fashion, popular trends and product reviews, college life, and other lifestyle-related content.

Seems like a lot, right? That's a lifestyle blog for you.

In addition to creating my Life With Dez blog, I use Pinterest, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram to promote my unique content to you.

Thank you for being so supportive; I look forward to growing with each of you!
